It was the first use by VW Group of their new Polo platform AO4, so it’s essentially a 5-door VW Polo for less money. It has electro-galvanised construction, for rust protection, and high build-quality. The 1.4 litre 8-valve engine is a development of Skoda’s Felicia unit, and has no timing belt to be replaced. She drives beautifully, with little evident wear and a plethora of useful features like air con and ‘plip’ locking. This is a well-equipped car in an excellent, high-visibility colour for safety and a very full service history.
